About the SAN Scholarship Program
The Sacramento Association of Nigerians Newton Ekpo Memorial Fund supports and advances the awareness of Nigerian issues through education and outreach. The Foundation award a number of scholarships annually in the amounts of $1000 and/or $500 to selected high school seniors who will be attending college. The scholarships given are based on the availability of funds. Beginning this year, previous recipients are not eligible apply.
Eligibility: The applicants of SANNEMF scholarship must be a high school student in his/her final year who will be attending college or a student currently attending a 2- or 4-year college/university. Open to applicants of all majors
Application Submission Deadline: October 16, 2023
Scholarship Award: November 4, 2023
The Sacramento Association of Nigerians Yusufu Family Fund (SANYFF) supports and advances the awareness of Nigerian issues through education and outreach. The Foundation will award $5,000 total annually to two selected students who will be attending college during the 2022-23 academic year and studying a business major. The award will depend on availability of funds. All questions on this scholarship program should be sent to:

SAN 2022 Annual Reward
The Sacramento Association of Nigeria (SAN) is a non-profit Association of Nigerian-Americans and others of Nigerian origin and seeks to provide community support for members and friends of Nigeria in its community through various outreach activities year-round.
SAN wishes to recognize the hard work of our prospective 2022 graduates transitioning from all levels of educational institutions by showing a token of appreciation for their perseverance and dedication to academic excellence.
To this end, we invite entries from prospective graduates from the 2022 academic session to be considered for our annual reward program by providing as follows;

The selection committee of SAN would communicate its decision based on the vetting process to the applicants on or before the 30th June 2022
This program is open to all students of Nigerian ethnicity and wards of Non-SAN members are
invited to apply.

All student applicants must meet the following criteria:
Selection of Scholarship Recipients
SANNEMF’s Scholarship Selection Committee will make awards based on the recipient’s demonstrated commitment to the Nigerian community, abilities, academic achievements, career goals, civic activities, and leadership skills. All applicants will be notified by mail of the status of their application by October 30, 2021, regardless of outcome.
SANNEMF does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, national and ethnic origin, or disability.
PERSONAL STATEMENT
Please provide a written statement that does not exceed 2 standard letter-sized pages in total length. Put your own name and that of your school on the top of each page. If you use a computer to draft your document, please use a 12-point font throughout, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins. Please address each of the following questions:
LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Please submit two letters of recommendation that have been written within the last three (3) months. The letters must clearly refer to you by name and provide comments that describe your character and abilities. A parent or close relative will not be considered a valid reference. The name, occupation, and contact information for each author must appear on the letters.
CERTIFICATIONS
I understand that late or incomplete applications will not be considered. My ability to accurately follow instructions will be considered during the selection process.
I hereby authorize SANNEMF to utilize information on my application and any photos that I provide for publicity or public relations purposes.
I certify that all of the information on this application is true and complete to the best of my knowledge and that I will forfeit my award if any information that I provide is found to be deliberately false, inaccurate, or misleading.
